Corporate portraits
The job of a photographer is to make everyone look good. Many business people see being photographed as a necessary chore, but that is no reason why their portraits should not be good portraits. I.have done many corporate assignments and for the best results I like to be able to build a studio in the office, creating an environment where I am able to light everyone sympathetically. I like to have 10/15 minutes with each subject to engage them in conversation so they can relax and forget they are being photographed. I enjoy taking portraits of the chairs and CEOs for they have reached the top of their profession. I try and show that they are comfortable in their role, that they look elegant and confident and they have gravitas.

John Paul Getty and Fred Zimmerman in the British Film Library
Sir David Alliance, Chair of Cotes Viyella. This was the first 'proper' corporate portrait I did. I persuaded him to be photographed in the midlands factory rather than the London office.
Jonathan Neame, Chairman of Shepherd Neame the brewers
John Nelson, Chairman of the property company Hammerson
The Board of Laing, the builders, photographed in the rail tunnel under construction below the runway at Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport

Members of the board of Burtons, the tailor, photographed during a meeting. I like this set of pictures as the are 'real'. These people are not actors pretending to discuss serious issues
Hans Krauer, Chairman USB. I had photographed him several times before this, so I felt confident that I could ask to take portraits of the board during their board meeting. The results were a set of strong, authentic, working portraits.
